RESOLUTIONS
Chair - Wilma Evans
Four resolutions were passed at the BPW Canada AGM in Montreal in July. These have now been put into a brief for presentation to Prime Minister Stephen Harper as well as other relevant Ministers. The topics include follows:
  1. Status of Women Canada Cuts and Changes
  2. Abolishment of the Court Challenges Program
  3. Funding for Stride Circles for Federally incarcerated women
  4. Access to Cervical Cancer Vaccine for all Canadian Women

URGENT RESOLUTIONS / RéSOLUTIONS URGENTES

BPW Clubs may submit an urgent resolution at any time. An urgent resolution is one that must be dealt with by a deadline, and is based on an urgent situation that cannot wait until the next AGM or convention. As per BPW Canada Regulation XVII, Section 3(a), the Board of Directors can approve an urgent resolution. The Board will then work with the By-laws and Resolutions Chair and the club submitting the urgent resolution to carry out the proposed implementation, which is often making a presentation to government.
