CONVENTION 2008 - WINNIPEG MANITOBA

July 24-27, 2008

Plans are shaping up for BPW Canada's Convention 2008 in Winnipeg. We're developing an exciting line-up of activities and events. So visit this page often for updates, and we're looking forward to seeing you in Winnipeg in July of 2008! Early Bird deadline is April 30th! So register before then as the savings are considerable! The Registration Form (Word) & Formulaire d'inscription (Word) are now available.

Pre-Convention Activities:
  • Wednesday, July 23, 2008:
    • Aboriginal Focus: Looking at issues facing Aboriginal Women: Co-ordinating this day with Department of Innu Health Department
    • All day workshop: includes luncheon (will have a separate speaker)
    • BPW members welcome to attend full day or just luncheon: pricing TBA.
  • Thursday, July 24, 2008:
    • Luncheon + workshop in afternoon (finished by 3:30 p.m.).
    • Luncheon: Speaker from Dove (To be confirmed).
    • Workshop: Focus is “Training the Trainers” for people who wish to present the Dove Self - Esteem program (Invitations to women’s organizations, school counsellors and resource teachers etc.).
    • BPW members may attend just the luncheon and/or the Dove workshop if their business or personal interest is in that area.
    • Pricing TBA.
Convention:
  • Thursday Evening (7:00 p.m.): “A Taste of Manitoba”.
  • Friday Luncheon: Guest Speaker: Muriel Smith.
  • YBPW activity to be confirmed.
  • Friday Night: “A Night on The Town”.
    • Assiniboine Downs: Dinner & Races: $35.00.
    • Celebrations Dinner Theatre: CSI Winnipeg: Little Murder on the Prairie: $50.00.
    • Red River Dinner + Cruise: $60.00 ($20.00 Cruise only).
    • Individual or group rates available.
    • Different minimum requirements.

  • Saturday Luncheon: Guest Speaker: Armed Forces (To Be Confirmed).
  • Saturday Evening: Banquet: “Out With The Past and On To The Future”.
  • Sunday Breakfast: FASD Panel: Moderator: Judy Wasylyscia - Leis.
  • Credit cards will be processed through a member’s company: Tara Potter: Ladouceur. Professional Services (former Ft. McMurray member).
  • Will let members know what will show on their credit card.
Post Convention: Opportunities to explore Winnipeg and the surrounding area.
