TYPES OF MEMBERS
An ACTIVE MEMBER shall be one who, at the time of admittance to this class, is now, has been within the last two years, or will be within the next two years, enganged in remunerative employment.
An ASSOCIATE MEMBER shall be one who is not engaged in remunerative occupation in business, professions or industry at the time of acceptance to membership in this class. An Associate Member shall be re-classified as an Active Member upon becoming engaged in remunerative occupation in business, the professions or industry.
An HONOURARY MEMBER is a person of special merit who is voted Honourary Membership by the Club.
A STUDENT MEMBER is a person enrolled in 60% of full time or more study at a post-secondary educational institution.
- Work towards improving the status of working women throughout the world;
- Associate with members of other BPW Clubs locally, provincially, nationally and internationally;
- Form friendships and networks with women in the community who are experienced and knowledgeable in a broad range of occupations and interests;
- Develop leadership capabilities; pursue career opportunities and change; network and advance your career;
- Put forth ideas which can be recognized and enforced by a large body of support at four levels: international, national, provincial and local club;
- Participate in the organization's business, attend workshops, hear speakers on relevant topics, develop friendships and network with other working women at club and Regional/District events, provincial conferences, national conventions or international congresses;
- Keep current on women's issues;
- Participate in the process of change.
